About Me

I am Nicola Williams, a fully regulated Solicitor Mediator with 20 years experience in family law. As a member of Resolution First for Family Law, I follow a Code of Practice that promotes an approach to family law that is sensitive, constructive, cost-effective and most likely to result in agreement.

I offer free intial introcutory appointments every Monday and Thrusday and have one simple rule when it comes to Client care:-

Having graduated with a degree in Law with French in 1991, I concluded my legal practice and professional skills training and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1996, specialising in divorce and relationship breakdown.

My first practical experience of working in Law was with a large Cheshire law firm in 1992, where I remained until I left to set up my own practice.

Nicola Williams and Co opened in Cheadle, Stockport in 2001.

My philosphy on what constitutes a good divorce solicitor is rooted in what I look for when I need professional help. How much you have to divide up between you is unimportant. At times of stress when the rules and legal procedures are unfamiliar, you need to be able to trust that the help you pay for is working in your best interests.

I never underestimate how stressful the process of divorce can be for the people involved, and how the wrong decisions can divide families for generations.

That's why I promise that the advice I give will always be that which I genuinely believe will lead to the best overall outcome for my client, balancing monetary or other benefits against the cost of pursuing a case both financially and emotionally.
